徐累為著名畫家及藝術鑑賞家，才識淵博，學貫中西，以西方超現實派、荷蘭文藝復興畫作、十九世紀攝影及中國古代書畫為鑒，巧妙融入作品之中。從其細膩的工筆畫法，引人思索國畫傳統的零散痕跡，在現今世代喚起懷舊之情。本作為《虛詞》系列，暗示現今散失的傳統文化象徵意義。「亭」為中國古代的經典建築，徐累以此一展智趣，揭發內在的浪漫主義與後現代懸念，讓觀者體會似是而非的景象，領悟箇中撲朔迷離的關係。
