As visible in the catalogue photo, there are expected bruises and insignificant losses to the fragile extremities, especially on the underside and widest point of the central section. There are also typical age cracks and surface scratches. The upper surface has at some point been gently waxed. There are also areas of gritty carbonised residue to the underside, which could be easily cleaned off and removed, possibly used to strengthen and consolidate the fragile central area.
