《霧之帶》是劉國松別具標誌性的動人作品，以亮麗飽滿的冰川藍調躍然突出。這幅層次多元的畫作匯集其現代水墨畫成就，其各種創作技巧共治一爐──把水拓、底塗、抽筋及拼貼法揉合其中。他在畫中覆上具象的精細紋理拼貼，代表抽象墨染畫面上的嶙峋皺石，巧妙地以手繪的輪廓與墨漬加以擴展。拼貼使畫中超現實的抽象元素化為靈氣微妙的風景，展現藝術家創作表達的巔峰。本作曾於1990年台北市立美術館舉行的劉國松奠基個展中亮相，此展更正式確立其現代國畫先鋒的地位。
