于彭從未接受過正規藝術訓練，從街頭藝術家起開始了自己的職業生涯。1981年一次到中國大陸的遊覽讓他決心發展自己的水墨風格，筆觸奇特而視角怪異。他的森林畫作打破傳統而又沉思冥想，對人物、動物與奇石怪岩的描繪生動而常常帶有情慾氣息。是次拍品中，他繪出迅速工業化的台北城市日常生活，眼光獨到犀利。繁花盛開的樹木間是畫中主角，身旁簇擁著愛人與寵物。畫幅尺寸龐大，景物彷彿無邊無垠，上題有詩句，描述羽化仙境中那不易察覺的微妙光環。此作是于彭典型的極端畫風——構圖要么生冷厚重，令人屏氣凝神，要么就漫不經心，開闊空曠——《羽化登遷》就是這樣一幅台灣知名藝術家的懷舊代表作。
