Condition
This painting is in excellent condition. Ultraviolet light examination reveals a ½ inch thin line of retouching to the vertical portion of the white graphite, located approximately 5 inches up from the lower center edge of the canvas. There are also a very small number of minute instances of potential retouching faintly visible only under ultraviolet light in the bottom third of the canvas. This canvas is not framed.

“I’ve always had the desire to make the work a unity… to make all the elements – the periphery line and the internal line, the surface, color – equal, totally locked together.”
(Robert Mangold cited in Richard Shiff, et al., Robert Mangold, London, 2000, p. 276)
