The cabinet is in very good condition with the exception of replaced metalwork, an age split to the right hand side panel, possible replacement to the aprons and minor surface scratches and wear commensurate with age.

透雕家具，流行於清朝，整體造型線條簡潔，映襯繁縟透雕，兩相益彰，透亮明淨，深受擁戴。三面透雕立櫃，空氣流通，宜於放置書籍，光線穿透，打陰影於櫃內工藝品，別具意趣。

本品之透雕櫃門，風格有別於下半部櫃門之平地陰線，門框與櫃身亦有別，故透雕或為專邀匠人特製，再後來裝嵌。

飾透雕之黃花梨立櫃，可參考數例，其一為圓角衣櫃，僅上半刻透雕，1994、1998及2011三度售於紐約佳士得，最後一次為2011年3月24日，編號1369；另一例櫃門上下各飾透雕，圖見安思遠，《Chinese Furniture. One Hundred and Three Examples from the Mimi and Raymond Hung Collection》，紐約，2005年，圖版8，售於香港佳士得2009年12月1日，編號1931，出自洪氏收藏。尚可比較上部櫃門透雕的四門櫃例，如一黃花梨對例，售於倫敦蘇富比1989年10月27日，編號40；另有紫檀櫃，售於香港蘇富比1992年10月27日，編號282；再比一紫檀例，售於香港佳士得2010年12月1日，編號3017。
