the framed top supported on beaded square-section legs terminating in hoof feet, joined by humpback stretchers set with cusped vertical struts

The corner leg table is in very good condition with the exception of small infills to the top of one leg and the inside edge, small patches to the spandrels on either side of the same leg, small circular patches to the legs around the joins with the stretcher and minor surface scratches and wear commensurate with age.

本桌屬四面平式，直腿方材，四面齊平，透雕角牙，令結構更平穩堅固。本品樸雅，乃最受歡迎之中式家具式樣之一，或發展自長方盒形之桌、椅或床榻，後者常見於唐代書畫，一例可見敦煌112窟，高臺座，低橫棖，圖載於Sarah Handler，《Austere Luminosity of Chinese Classical Furniture》，柏克萊，2001年，圖版 8.7。

無束腰之桌例，以羅鍋棖較為常見，一例載於嘉木堂《明式家具》，香港，1995，圖版3，售於香港佳士得2012年11月28日，編號2040；另一例載於伍嘉恩，《侶明室家具圖集》，香港，2000，圖版23；另有兩例，售於紐約佳士得，其一出自Robert P. Piccus伉儷收藏，2000年9月21日，編號35，其二出自William Lipton收藏，2008年9月17日，編號 153；紐約蘇富比亦售一十七世紀製桌例，1987年10月 9/10日，編號429。另可比較一黃花梨桌，無束腰及橫棖，圖載於Gustav Ecke，《Chinese Domestic Furniture》，拉特蘭，1962年，圖版15。
