The larger: Some scratches on the base, inside of the mouth that looks like numbers, and on the inside of the cover. There is a small patch on the shoulder near the handle, there are casting irregularities on the inside of the mouth, and minor nicks around the mouth rim. The smaller: Some scratches on the base and a nick and scratch to the edge of the cover. Apart from minor wear, both pieces appear to be in good overall condition.

Zhang Mingqi was a craftsman active during the late Ming dynasty, well-known for his handwarmers.  His design and craftsmanship was renowned and his name was often inscribed on pieces made in later periods as an homage to this great master.
