well-carved, seated with one leg pendant and the other drawn up, one hand resting gently on the back of a lion cub, the other holding a fly whisk, plain monastic robes crossed over the chest falling in voluminous folds over the edges of the rockwork seat, the bald head with deep set features, sensitively modeled in a contemplative expression, traces of pale pink and white ground color

Condition

The figure is missing the head of the animal in its lap as well as a part of the hand and the lower section of the fly whisk. There is a large chip to the top of the seat at the back as well as wear to the lower section of the back of the seat.
