東南亞私人收藏李可染作品 （編號 1440 – 1441）

〈歸牧圖〉及〈江南水鄉〉源自馬來西亞檳城怡齋畫廊。畫廊主人陳詩暢於一九八一年致函可染先生詢及收得其三幀作品之真偽。畫家覆函稱〈歸牧圖〉及〈江南水鄉〉（即信中所稱〈江南山水〉）皆真迹，另幅乃贋品。又：回函乃畫家囑親人代筆，並鈐其印章作實。現藏者購得這兩幀作品並附上述覆函，保存至今卅載矣！

註：可染先生於一九五四年赴江南寫生，足迹遍及江蘇、浙江、安徽數省，歷時約三月，創作了不少寫生作品。同年九月在北京舉行了此行寫生作品展，引起畫壇頗大迴響。

本幅署一九五四年夏，作於北京，可知乃此行積累素材待返京後寫成。畫中揚柳依依近水湄，小船於垂蔭盪漾中緩緩而行，入眼一片江南魚米鄉之景色。畫家結合實景寫生再行創作，寫實手法經藝術提鍊加工，時代氣息濃厚。
