周太公壺銘只九字，古器多銘釁字，按〈禮襍〉記，成廟則釁之。又〈廣韻〉：釁，牲血以涂祭器也。周制烝嘗饙獻凡用兩壺，次於尊彝，分列門內，則此壺為祭祀之用無疑。辛卯馮康侯並記。
題跋（於裱邊）：
壽隆、文慈賢伉儷嘉禮紀念。辛卯孟冬。馬彬甫、馬武仲、馮康侯同拜賀。
鈐印：「康侯之鉩」、「大樹將軍之後」。
