註：黃幻吾早歲曾請益畫藝於高劍父、奇峰昆仲，雖未正式拜門，卻頗受嶺南畫派影響。日後移居滬上，又融合海派畫風，自成面貌。
畫中見鷺鷥立於粗幹，下俯游魚，如此構圖，乃移用劍父中歲之作，若參考方君璧舊藏高氏之〈野塘秋趣〉，則可知取法所自。下方之鯉魚結伴翔泳，與海派畫家好寫之錦鯉圖相類。本幅屬六十年代後期所出，足見融合兩派之長！
