本輯所集之作品直接得自畫家送贈。藏者之姐，四九年前就讀國立杭州藝術專科學校，受業於風眠先生門下。五十年代初，畫家自杭州遷居上海，是時社會環境遽變，因背景、創作思想種種關係，未受重視，友朋往還較少，除外籍人士好其藝者登門求畫外，往來的袛有包括其姐在內的幾位學生。他當時年紀尚輕，先生與學生結伴外出時，他亦相陪左右，年齡相距雖遠，老少相處甚歡，先生在杭州玉泉舊居也交由他的家人照料。獲贈留念作品頗多，皆為五十年代初期或以前之作，部份出諸畫家興之所致、隨心順手者，雖云小品，寥寥數筆，卻不乏精彩處！
