the large mythical beast carved recumbent resting its head on its forepaws, grasping a spray of lingzhi in its mouth, its muscular body detailed with protruding ribs and spine, the mottled celadon stone accented with brown and calcified veins; the qilin depicted standing foursquare with its head turned towards its back, breathing forth swirls of vapour, wood stands

There is some surface pitting and calcifications in areas to the large 'recumbent beast' paperweight, consistent with the age and type. It is otherwise in good condition. The outer edge of the qilin rear left hoof is polished, possibly to conceal a tiny chip. Otherwise the carving is in good condition.
