the centre of the dish enamelled in green with two Buddhist lions encircling a beribboned brocade ball, their paws grasping trimmings that curl to resemble lingzhi scrolls, the exterior similarly painted with four alternating lions and balls, the underside inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character reign mark

Condition
The rim has an approx. 10.5 cm section which has been chipped and restored, including a section of approx. 6 cm which has been overpainted. There is a stained star-shaped firing crack across the base, which has passed through to the interior. The dish also has some expected scratches and enamel wear.
