of bulbous form rising from a recessed base to a tapered neck, finely applied overall with pale caesius-coloured glaze suffused with a matrix of fine colourless and dark grey crackles, save for the footring left unglazed and dressed in a brown wash in imitation of the Song dynasty ware, the base inscribed in underglaze blue with a four-character seal mark

The washer is in overall very good condition. There are a few nicks to the knife-pared foot rim, most likely to be original to the piece.
