描述

  • 《大清乾隆年製》款
  • porcelain
of archaic jade cong form, the straight-sided body rising from a short foot to a narrow tapering circular neck and modelled along the corner with trigrams, applied overall with an attractive caesius-coloured glaze suffused with a fine network of crackles, save for the footrim left unglazed and applied with a brown wash in imitation of the Song dynasty ware, the base inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character seal mark, wood stand and old Japanese box

Condition

The shoulder has a stained horizontal surface hairline crack with associated bruises, probably developed from the original crackles, but the overall condition is otherwise quite good. There are a few typical imperfections in the glaze consistent with the type, including a small glaze pull of 0.5 cm to one side, and a body line under the glaze to the rim extending from a small indentation on the mouth, original to the potting. The actual colour is somewhat warmer and deeper, slightly more sage green when compared to the catalogue illustration.
