拍品資料及來源

The roughened interior may be an indication that the entire group of animal-form amber snuff bottles may have been made a little earlier than it was previously suggested, and probably during the second half of the eighteenth century.

This is the only known Bactrian camel from the broad group of stylistically related animal-form bottles in either jade or amber. Although the style, material, size, and distinctive rough hollowing of the interior all confirm it as part of the amber series from the group, the addition of the extra creature, the hawk improbably perched on its hind flank, is another unique feature.
