the gently rounded sides rising to a slightly incurved rim, applied overall with a bubble suffused, opaque yuebai (moon white) glaze draining at the rim to a pale mushroom color, the exterior with fine craquelure, and terminating unevenly above the short, neatly cut unglazed foot ring, Japanese wood box

The surface with wear, scattered iron spots and burst glaze bubbles and the bowl is slightly warped. There are two fine short haircracks running across the rim and a small old restored flake chip to the rim edge.
