Rubies of Burmese origin cannot be imported into the US. This piece contains rubies of Burmese origin and therefore cannot be imported into the US. Please contact the jewellery department for further information or see our Important Notices. Accompanied by SSEF report no. 76963, stating that the rubies are of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating, the original gouache and pencil design and a photocopy of a letter from Bulgari, dated 10 November 1973, authenticating the necklace. According to the SSEF report, the necklace contains approximately 75 ct of rubies, the bracelet contains approximately 40 ct of rubies, and the earrings contain approximately 7.2 and 8.1 ct of rubies; for a total weight of approximately 130.30 ct. Bracelet with partial French maker's mark. Necklace, bracelet and earrings each with French assay marks for platinum and gold. Necklace also stamped PT950. The rubies are red to purplish red of medium strong saturation to strong saturation, with typical inclusions, some surface reaching, some nicks, chips, cavities and abrasions visible with x10 magnification. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 40.00 carats, on average G-I colour and VS clarity, as gauged and graded in the mounting. Signs of normal wear to the mounting commensurate with age. Clasp on necklace and bracelet secure; necklace with safety latch. Total gross weight approximately 171 grams. Fitted case unsigned.
