comprising: a vase cast with a compressed globular body rising to an elongated straight neck and a garlic-bulb shaped mouth, the neck bordered with a raised band further centred with a raised fillet, the bronze patinated to a warm chocolate-brown tone mottled with traces of gilding; and a vase of square section, the baluster body rising from a slightly splayed foot to a waisted neck and an everted mouthrim of corresponding form, the neck flanked by a pair of mythical beast mask loop handles, the surface of a coppery-brown tone mottled with green encrustation along the mouthrim

Left vase: the mouth is dented, with an acute 1cm bruise. Other dents and surface wear and scratching. Traces of original gilding. Right vase: 0.3cm chip to the foot at the back right corner. 1.5cm area of restoration to the mouth. Malachite-green oxidisation, especially at the mouth.
