Movement is in working order while cataloguing. Dial with signs of ageing and faded into a very appealing brown shade. Case in good condition. With a Rolex service invoice dated 2012.

Designed to be used by scientists and those working in areas where exposure to high magnetic fields was unavoidable, the Milgauss model was guaranteed to resist magnetic fields up to 1,000 oersted. Indeed, the word Milgauss means 1,000 gauss (gauss being a measurement for magnetic induction). Magnetic fields can affect a watch's accuracy at just 60 oersted, at 100 oersted the watch will no longer work. The Milgauss overcame the effects of magnetic fields by using anti-magnetic alloys and an iron movement cover.
The present lot, is one of the rarest Milgauss watches produced. The defining characteristics of this model are typically the lightning bolt sweep centre seconds hand and the rotating bezel calibrated for 60 units. This watch however was specially made for the American and Canadian market featuring an enlarged inclined polished bezel that makes is stand out from the standard design.
