Padampa Sangye was a Buddhist holy man from Southern India. In the late 11th century, he made more than five trips to Tibet and transmitted many teachings based on both Sutrayana and Tantrayana to Buddhist practitioners. Some traditions also have him traveling to China where he became known as Bodhidharma, and founded the Chinese Chan school.
