of compressed globular form, rising from a thick foot to a short neck with a metal rim, molded in high relief around the body with a continuous scene of a lotus pond beneath a band of waves around the shoulder, all picked out in turquoise, yellow and white, reserved on a rich indigo ground, the pierced wood cover with a jade finial, wood stand (3)

Condition

The neck and rim of the jar has been cut down and fitted with a later silver metal mount. The center of the base has been drilled and later filled, with a minor haircrack running from the drilled hole to the foot. There are some small chips around the edge of the base and the underside of the foot has been polished on one side. There are some ;typical scattered minor chips and burst airbubbles to the surface of the glaze overall.
