delicately potted with deep rounded sides rising from a short straight foot, the exterior elaborately painted with a composite floral meander, the green leafy scroll issuing green curling leaves, interspersed with iron-red leaves and multi-coloured floral blossoms enamelled in blue, aubergine, yellow, pink and green, all reserved on a black ground

The overall condition is very good except for some expected wear to the enamel.

粉彩始於康熙，精於雍正，盛於乾隆。《陶雅》曰：「粉彩以雍正朝最美，前無古人，後無來者，鮮豔耀眼。」雍正粉彩胎體細密，以小巧俊秀的小件器物為主，而且種類繁多，除白地粉彩外，墨地粉彩亦為雍正朝粉彩的特色之一，甚為珍罕。
