This impressive lacquer stand has a 32cm., long age crack to the top surface, rubbing and loss to the painted and gilded decoration of one of the spandrels on the top surface, loss to a circa 15 x 6cm., section of fretwork to the base, loss to approximately half of the pierced medallion in the centre of the base, nibbles and repairs around the joints, minor re-touching to the gilded chain-link legs, nibbles and chips to the lacquer on the corners of the base, minor rubbing and scratches to the painted and gilt decoration.

本品形飾精細，典雅秀麗，盡顯乾隆一朝藝匠超凡造詣，巧思善創。類例極罕，前知僅有一件，與本品成對，售於倫敦佳士得2010年11月9日，編號277。

几足造型紋飾獨特精巧，創思應取自璜、璧以繩相繫，環環相扣，此等紋飾於乾隆年間宮廷作坊御製飾品訪求甚殷。繩紋裝飾遠溯自高古青銅器紋飾；參見春秋時代青銅繩紋缶霝，曾展於北京故宮博物院《清代宮廷包裝藝術》，2000年，編號4，以及戰國青銅繩絡紋壺，編號7。另有紅木椅例，牙條鏤雕盤索紋，曾展於《Chinese Hardwood Furniture in Hawaiian Collections》，Honolulu Academy of Arts，火奴魯魯，1982年，編號83。北京故宮博物館藏有一紫檀炕几，几足間用拱璧式牙子，璧上鑲嵌銅胎掐絲琺瑯團花紋 ，錄於故宮博物院品《你應該知道的200件紫檀家具》，北京，2008年，圖版159。

此方几紋飾集各家藝術傳統於一身，錯綜華麗，精巧無匹；几面金剛與法輪紋源於佛教圖案，巧妙融合西方卷草羽翅紋，華美雍容，亦符當代美感。戧金及填漆器俱沿輪廓施釉，要求準繩精確，彩漆木器紋飾則風格自由，不拘一格。有一描金几例，融匯佛教及西方紋飾題材，圖錄於《故宮博物院藏文物珍品全集．明清家具》，卷一，香港，2002年，圖版168。本品几底飾皮球花，應源自日本工藝紋飾，參見一漆櫃作例，屬十八/十九世紀，售於紐約蘇富比1994年11月29日，編號420。
