Condition
This work is in excellent condition. There are two areas of minor paint loss at the extreme overturn edges, located as follows: a ¾ inch area at 14 ¼-15" in from the upper right corner, as well as a small area at 24 ½" in from the lower left corner along the bottom edge. There are two areas of thin accretions with a glossier sheen, possibly from the artist's studio: one in the black at top center and another approximately 4" area in the red pigment adjacent to the diagonal metal strip of the small triangular window. Under ultraviolet light, these areas fluoresce a light washy yellow but do not appear to be restorations. Under ultraviolet light there are no apparent restorations. . The tips of the ladder and the tops of the upper rungs exhibit airborne dust overall. The canvas is framed in a blonde wood frame with a 2 ¾ inch float.
