The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the paper tone tends more towards a cream in the original.

This work is in very good condition. The sheet is attached verso to the backing board in several places. Close inspection reveals a few minor creases and handling marks in places, which appear to be original.

"A body of work known as the '9th Street Rundown' drawings... functions like a typology of painterly gestures. Notably the works interweave appropriated and original forms without differentiation; some were spontaneously made by the artist himself, but others were lifted directly from illustrations in a guide to abstract painting for the amateur."
