註：一九五○年，大千先生棲居印度大吉嶺，該處地僻人罕，妻兒暫別，門人故舊幾近絶迹，兼售畫較前困難，經濟未見寬裕，遂寫畫賦詩寄懷，亦可排遣寂寞。這段時期的創作，無論工筆寫意，皆細心經營，精彩之作紛陳。

本幅寫於是年夏，紙材特經挑選，尺幅小巧精緻。畫中工寫結合，以狀粉荷嬌態，葉塊沒骨渲染，迎風招展，花瓣細筆勾劃，白粉點蕊，片片交叠，花葉掩映，嫰紅淡綠，呈氤氳矇矓，如美人睡起，一片惺忪，極見柔媚之態，難怪畫家稍後檢贈好友內眷，亦美人名花相襯也！
