-Signs of restoration could be found at the sun, where there appears to be paper loss previously. Light foxy could be found throughout the painting, which could be improved by restoration. Paper colours appear to be slightly greyish due to age, otherwise, generally in fair to good condition.

註：王雪濤習藝由西畫入學再轉向國畫，受王夢白影響，以小寫意花鳥享譽，其設色雅淡清雋，描刻細緻傳神而不拘滯。事實上，他早歲投白石老人門下，工筆寫意之絕詣兼習，日後乃師筆下花卉有他添綴草蟲，此為世人熟悉，惟其大寫意畫風因傳世作品極稀有而備受忽略！

本幅寫於一九二六年初，時師事白石僅年餘，畫中所見，題材、佈局、筆法、書體以至紙材尺幅，極攝老師畫法神髓。是年，他年歲、畫齡俱淺，但筆下所出酷肖白石神貌外，其筆墨之老辣恣放，沉穩厚重，與其所擅小寫意有南轅北轍之別。足見他鑽研之功，亦難掩天生聰慧，在白石眾弟子中不囿於師承而得自創一格，本幅堪列佳証矣！
