註：若論民國時期芸芸山水畫家中，造景奇絶堪與賀天健比肩者，當推剡溪鄭昶。本幅出諸午昌壯歲，入畫非稱著於時的楊柳，惟岸渚蘆葦密聚成叢，長條伸出，或輕垂飄掠，或曲彎低首，前後錯綜交叠，千姿萬態，幾佔窄長畫面大半空間。孤舟一葉，載著畫中主角之高士，輕盪出蘆葦叢中，抱竿垂釣，主角與配景佈置隱顯之巧妙，實出人意表。上方群鳥自葦叢中躍起，似受驚之狀，恰好交待了孤舟盪出之情狀，靜中寓動，於此盡現。畫家經營不露痕迹，安排自然，觀者亦歛手嘆服矣！
