- Silk bears a tanned tone due to age. - Horizontal creases can be found across the scroll since painting has been kept in very dry place. - Discoloration due to age on the lower part of the figure, especially the orange color. - Foxing patches and spots can be found here and there on the scroll. - Silk presents different color on the lower left corner of the scroll, painting is not affected. - One major scratch stain can also be found on the lower left corner, painting is not affected.

說明：張大千《南無觀世音菩薩》，重彩絹本，係大千先生癸未（1943）年六月專門為國民黨將軍朱紹良夫人花德芬女士敬造之畫像。菩薩構圖形象基本源自莫高窟第401窟壁畫供養菩薩像，只是菩薩整體左右相反而已。四川博物院藏有張大千所捐《初唐供養菩薩》臨摹本，則幾乎完全臨摹自第401窟壁畫。1943年6月，張大千剛剛完成二年又七個月的敦煌莫高窟、榆林窟壁畫臨摹工作，所以此幅觀音像無論是造型還是賦色，俱爐火純青，并從敦煌壁畫汲取了唐代繪畫的精髓，創造了他藝術生涯的又一高峰。
