蒙元新治下之中國,工匠於南宋舊統中得以解放,積極汲取外來元素,尤為迎合外銷品味。迄今分別見於伊斯坦堡托卡比皇宮以及伊朗阿德比爾聖廟之十四世紀中國瓷器,藏量龐巨,精緻美艷,絕非偶然。藝匠藉由諸窰,嘗試各種樣形搭配,如視此瓶,高肩、收身、敞足,可比較磁州窰器,見一四爪龍紋例,藏於堪薩斯城納爾遜藝術博物館,錄於《Nelson Gallery of Art》,納爾遜藝術博物館,卷2,堪薩斯城,1973年,頁84。
龍泉青釉瓷瓶,堆貼龍紋者,甚罕,見一梨形例,尺寸相近,飾四爪龍,面向右方,躍波逐珠,載於《龍泉窰青瓷》,台北,1998年,圖版162;另參考一罐,綴三爪龍紋,刊於《中國美術全集.陶瓷》,卷3,上海,1988年,圖版55,及《文物》,1980年,第9期,頁90-91。亦可比較一罐例,雕相若四爪龍紋,錄於《Östasiatisk keramik ur med. dr. Bo Ewerts samling》,Röhsska konstslöjdmuseet,哥特堡,1971年,編號41,售於倫敦蘇富比1973年7月24日,編號56。所見龍紋使人聯想同時代青花瓷圖案,參見現存倫敦大英博物館著名的大維德爵士舊藏元青花雲龍紋象耳瓶上所繪四爪龍紋,載於《Oriental Ceramics. The World’s Great Collections》,卷6,紐約,1982年,彩圖25,其中一瓶乃 Charles E. Russell 氏舊藏,曾售於倫敦蘇富比1935年6月6日,編號89。
曲形魚龍耳,首於宋末見於龍泉窰,也作類似執柄用。本器所飾魚龍,面部、鱗身刻畫,皆細膩入微,其尾部上翹,貼合魚身,凸顯婀娜曲線,呈巴洛克風姿,有別於簡約宋風。瓶頸上方添飾火珠,與下方龍紋互相呼應,加強布局張力。另可比較一紙槌瓶例,龍耳相類,然形更近樸素宋式,屬 Enid and F. Brodie Lodge 伉儷舊藏,後英國鐵路基金會遞藏,二度售於倫敦蘇富比,分別為1975年7月8日,編號91,及1989年12月12日,編號93。此瓶肩上所見堆貼小花甚罕,形與鼓釘洗上所見仿摹固定鼓皮所用釘子之飾有相類之處,極其別緻。
