現駐波多黎各的阿羅拉與卡札德拉不僅是人生伴侶，更是藝術盟友，他們通過使用多種媒材創作不同形式的藝術作品，一針見血地指出公眾生活中存在的政治緊張：民族主義、環境保護主義、戰爭與抵抗……這對藝術雙人組於2011年威尼斯雙年展上代表美國參展，帶去五件頗具爭議的作品，轟動整個藝壇。例如《田徑》中，一輛坦克被翻轉過來，履帶向上，承托著一台跑步機，一位參加過奧林匹克運動會的美國運動員在上面慢跑三十分鐘，而後休息三十分鐘，再繼續如此循環往復。另一名為《算法》的裝置藝術作品則邀請觀者親身參與其中：一架高達20英尺的管風琴，沒有鍵盤、按鈕或踏板，琴體內裝置了一台自動提款機，提款時自會奏出裊裊樂聲。

阿羅拉與卡札德拉的藝術作品打破傳統概念，時而奇特古怪，卻提高了我們對已知物料的認知、促使我們深入探尋它的意義所在，追溯歷史、文化與政治的方方面面。是次拍品《太陽災難》中，太陽能電池板被拆分成幾何形狀，醒目地拼貼在畫布上。太陽能電池板似乎是當今環保進步的普遍象徵，以畫布為背景將其拆分成純粹的裝飾品彷彿暗指美化過後、甚至是偽善的環境保護主義。無論是政治爭議、情緒影響，還是它所誘發的審美體驗方面，對媒材的全新詮釋都令此作品的內涵尤其豐富。
