This work is in good condition. There are small spots of scattered foxing, a slight discolouration inherent to the aging process, notably on the bottom edge. Also, a mark, roughly 40 centimeters in length appears on the bottom right edge.

「當我遊歷了歐美的各大城市後，最誘惑我而使我嚮往的地方，那便是香港…香港是故國山河，中國人生存的地方，更震顫我的心弦。青色的島嶼，古老的帆影，在鱗般的海面上散點著。這就是祖國山河！由佐敦道碼頭走到天星碼頭，我慢慢欣賞那些忙碌的人，忙碌的船隻。古老的中國木船，在浪上起伏漂行，它那幽美的風姿，把我帶到古老的年代。它那巨翼似的風帆，我彷彿看到了我們民族英勇、偉大的精神，永恆地在與天地抗衡。木船划過巨大的輪船身邊，航行在摩天大樓的倒影之前。它像是從漢唐盛世時航來，向太空時代誇耀挑戰。」
席德進

1975年8月，席德進赴菲律賓旅遊寫生，11月轉赴香港，參加在香港大會堂所舉辦的聯展，《香港海景》為他當時面對天光爛漫、船隻逡巡往來的香港海景所畫之作。其落筆成痕，不作修改，漫天雲彩的鋪排與筆勢極具戲劇性的張力，呈現席氏成熟的創作語言及風格。
