Condition
The movement is running at the time of cataloguing, however it may require service. The calendar is manually adjusted via the coral studs on the case. The dial is clean with some degradation to the printing of the numerals, visible under magnification. Some slight losses to the printing of the calendar windows and the case has acquired a nice patina throughout and is nicely preserved. Well stamped throughout and signed Cartier London.

The present lot is a brilliant illustration of the fusion of refined aesthetic and absolute practicality of some of Cartier's finest objets. When the piece is in its 'closed' position, the day and date windows are visible, and it can function as an attractive and simple paperweight that conveys useful information. When the top is hinged open, it is angled perfectly so that the open piece displays the full calendar and hour as a desk or travel timepiece.
