This work is generally in good condition. There are a few minor marks on the surface of the obsidian ball, and general white spots on the inside of the hand and the behind of the child.

陳世英自幼潛心中國工藝，亦鑽研西方寶石雕刻，不囿於傳統技術樊籬，能從固有的基礎上萌發意念。二十年長一筆一削的東方雕刻，呼吸沉浸西方藝術世界，內在精神穿梭不同現有形式。於一九八七年，融浮雕、陰雕、內雕及寶石特性於一體，創出舉世聞名的 Wallace Cut (「世英切割」) 切割技法，是他與寶石走上人生的第一個高峰，自此開展了長達十年創作期。
亢龍有悔，盈不可久；要越過高峰，先要經過幽谷。一九九六至二〇〇〇年期間，陳世英為寺院創製大型雕塑，更於一九九九年為台灣佛光山製作佛牙舍利寶塔，該佛牙舍利寶塔現於新建成的佛光山佛陀紀念館永久安放。 參禪禮佛，心無罣礙，生命得以昇華，走上人生另一階段。
陳世英精通光學、寶石學、色彩學、冶金學、人體工學，深化創作，使不同物質互為依存、轉化，共生共息，內涵至臻完美。陳世英花了八年時間，克服鈦固有的物理秉性，以鈦作成就珠寶的骨幹，造出讓人驚嘆的藝術珠寶和雕刻作品。
陳世英的創作路充滿傳奇，他不斷突破，開拓嶄新創作領域，挑戰難度，將不可能的變成可能。他的藝術珠寶存在無窮無盡的創作空間，從世界級拍賣行，以至舉足輕重的國家級博物館，其影響遍及亞洲和歐美。
