Condition
This work is generally in good condition. There are wear and handling marks along the edges. Upon close inspection, fine vertical hairline craquelures and several patches of paint loss are found along the lower left edge. Please note that it was not examined under ultraviolet light.

作為中國當代藝術領域的領軍人物,岳敏君被視為這一代藝術家中突破性的人物,受到廣泛的高度認可。其最著名的形象是他標誌性的笑容,用他自己的話來說——「笑無所不在。」
岳敏君早期的作品受到超現實主義的影響。從二十世紀九〇年代開始,他的自畫像描繪了他機械的笑容,但卻掩飾了笑容之下的感情。畫面人物的構圖或者姿勢呈現出一種複雜性,笑容變成了一副面具。他的作品深受西方藝術史影響,人物的姿態開始讓人聯想到一些大師的名作。岳敏君同時也一直持續創作他的〈場景〉系列,在這個系列中,他重繪中國社會主義時期的著名繪畫和西方名畫,但把原作中的人物抹去僅僅留下場景。「這些典型的中國社會主義繪畫看上去是非常現實主義的,但其實卻是超現實的。它們服務于英雄主義的傳奇,畫面中偉人或英雄的形象與其虛構的場景相配得恰到好處。」
岳敏君曾多次參加國際展覽,包括二〇一一年在奧爾胡斯現代藝術博物館展出的《西元3009 年考古發現》,二〇〇八年在三藩市現代美術館展出的《半生一夢:洛根當代中國藝術收藏展》,二〇〇七年至二〇〇八年在紐約皇后區藝術博物館展出的《岳敏君和他的符號化笑容》,二〇〇六年在深圳何香凝美術館展出的《複製的偶像: 岳敏君作品展》,二〇〇四年及二〇〇八年上海雙年展,以及一九九九年第四十八屆威尼斯雙年展等。
