The work is in good condition overall, as is the canvas, which is clear and sound. There is light wear and handling along the edges due to the framing process, but paint layers are well-preserved. Upon close observation shows minor indication of scattered paint loss, with the most visible located on the top (sun) and bottom registers of the painting. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals no sign of restoration. Framed.

“[Affandi] is still pursuing the making of form, but the traces of his emotion are obvious from the curved lines which look as if they are dancing rhythmically over the entire canvas… Affandi apparently managed to achieve a synchronization between the pursuit of form and the release of emotion. Up to this particular painting, the technique of direct squeezing from tube to canvas still did not dominate the drawn areas – this was precisely due to the reason mentioned above: Affandi had to use paint prudently.”
