Indication of light wear and handling is evident around the edges of the painting, but the paint layers and impastos are well-preserved. Under ultraviolet light examination reveals scattered restoration above the left arm of the woman washing clothes (green paint in the background), on the body of the second figure from the left, and on the river next to the leaves (center upper register).
