拍品資料及來源

Ivan Lam has earned a reputation as one of Malaysia's leading contemporary artists for his continuous ability to push the boundaries of his art practice. Unafraid to take risks and never content to lean on the familiar, he is constantly posing himself new challenges through experimentation with new techniques and mediums. In so doing, he has managed to reach greater heights, as each of his iconic works reflects a rare purity and honesty .

Home (We Are Finally Home) is one of a suite of nine paintings from Lam’s After All These Years series executed between 2007 and 2009. The subject matter is an intimate one, as the scene here depicts the outside view of the artist's home. Located at a suburb in the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, the artist's home represents the ever expanding middle-class of Malaysia, of which the artist is a product of. The condition of the middle-class in Malaysia is a theme continuously explored by Ivan Lam.
