This work is in good condition overall, as is the canvas, which is clear and sound. There is light wear and handling around the edges of the painting. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals no evidence of restoration. Unframed, on a stretcher.

[Irfan’s] creations often depict bridges, railroad tracks, locomotives and airplanes; all man-made structures supporting movement, stasis or transition. Love of travel and temporary displacement are characteristics of his Minangkabau tribe from West Sumatra. Locomotives are the quintessential carriers of wishes, hopes and expectations.
