Condition
The work is in good condition overall. There are indications of minor wear and handling around the edges, but paint layers are well-preserved. Under ultraviolet light inspection, there is no evidence of retouching. Unframed, on stretcher.

斯哲·丹尼杜回歸早期奔馳於想像領域的主題,又果敢結合了近年所著迷的超級寫實主義,兩個世界乍看截然不同,卻又不無關係。畫家重新演繹惠斯勒(Whistler)的代表作《灰與黑的交響曲 第1號》(其母親畫像),將之放在當代背景,又加入了一個蒙面藝術家。
此雙聯幅中佳人各處一方,只好遙相思念。男子陷在孤寂的茫茫深海,女子則要靠牆上畫像的慰藉才終於睡下。距離使他們失去平衡,男子傾斜著身子,女子也在擺椅上搖晃不定。
題目《月光》取自德布西(Debussy)的同名組曲(有說惠斯勒之畫作靈感也來自於此),唯美旋律為此畫和聲,流動著幾分溫柔的安慰。女子手握絲帶,是剛拆開他的禮物嗎?而他亦與牆上畫像呼應相連。夢境與現實兩個對立的世界在丹尼杜筆下成為一個和諧的整體。雖然肉體暫時被分離,但他們的精神卻因此而緊緊系在一起。
此作不僅顯示出丹尼杜對印象派與表現派的肯定,更是他回歸敘事之作。《月光》中飽含符號與動態,厚重的油彩一層層的加之畫面,畫筆直接造形,並無勾勒線條。畫家視每一層油彩為完整獨立的畫作,顏料乾後必將其刮平上光,如是反复操作。丹尼杜認為顏料越厚,它便會隨著日子而越發明亮,如陳釀般,濃厚圓潤、回味悠長。
