賓甫居士出觀此圖,深得元人氣韻。濱虹老輩平生服膺髠殘,百年來能與抗手者,當推此老。丁亥初秋,暑風漸退,晴牕展翫,心目為之一曠也。禺山馮康侯記。

-Signs of paper loss at the middle and lower section of the painting, which could be improved by restoration. Paper has turned greyish due to age. Otherwise, generally in good condition.

上款:「濱甫」即馬孝讓,字賓甫,號海綃翁,廣東順德人,出身書香
門弟,家中排行第三,與二兄馬武仲俱嗜書畫藝術,好與粵省文藝界
諸家遊,其「思舊閣」與馬武仲之「媚秋室」乃民國時期廣東著名收藏。
馬賓甫好書畫外,復精通版本目錄之學,庋藏善本亦有名於時。
註:黃賓虹與廣東收藏家及藝壇仝道交誼深厚,不受地域、省籍區
隔,故歸粵籍人士精品甚夥,本幅又一明証矣。賓老時居上海,按題
跋所示,他與馬氏早已訂交,故以畫回報所贈詩集。畫面見翠嶺瀑
流,重巒堆叠,下方高士策杖踽踽而行,松樹高低參差佈列其側,浮
嵐橫掠,恰將全畫上下分割為二,益顯高聳邈遠之境。
賓老以小青綠法寫此,筆墨宗元人,一片蒼潤清朗,素淨明晣,惟結
構講究,瀑流雲氣迂迴穿插,佈置自然流暢,自抒胸臆逸氣之餘,不
流於文人筆墨遊戲之草率,屬中歲報聘藝友之佳構。
裱邊具粵籍文藝金石書畫界名宿四七至四九年間之題跋,可見馬賓甫
當時在藝壇人脈之廣。畫上尚具廣東畫家張祥凝藏印,鈐於「賓父心
賞」之上,按鈐蓋位置,可知本幅日後自「思舊閣」轉歸作齋,輾轉遞
藏仍不脫粵人之手矣!
