註：抗戰烽煙，穗城陷敵，粵籍文藝界人士紛紛走避港澳。鄧芬是時
亦寄寓於香澥濠江間。他性豪爽不覊，交遊素廣，不拘於藝壇畫界中
人，方外人士亦有交結。
本幅及編號1172、1173 共三幀作品，皆鄧氏鏡海棲居時，寫贈藥王禪
院之濬參和尚。從傳世作品所見，一九四○至四二年間，他與濬參過
從頗密，到藥山精舍隨喜，並即席寫畫相贈，又或賦詩作書以寄。
本幅寫於一九四○年初，似屬具濬參上款最早者，以白荷入畫，題
材自與受贈者方外身份有關，相配之書法錄近作七絕三首，題曰「法
教」，而鄧氏贈其自書詩作頗多，濬參似為詩僧乎！
