-A sign of paper tear along the middle fold line of the fan, which can be improved by restoration. Otherwise, generally in good condition.

上款：「孑民」即蔡元培（1868－1940），畫上鈐「孑民」和「蔡元培印」
印章均出自齊白石刀下。齊氏自題扇邊，敘述前後淵源，至今仍保留
著邊題的原始狀態。
邊題中「亦山先生」即仇鼇（1879－1970），此扇繪成於一九二八年，
時蔡元培任中央研究院院長，仇鼇任國民政府銓敘部次長。此扇本為
同籍湖南之仇鼇向白石老人求畫以贈蔡氏，畫家卻主動表示「吾寄贈孑
老亦可」，而題邊「孑老」前尚空一格，以「挪抬」格式，可見對蔡元培
極為尊重。
