註：本幅乃應求畫者之屬而製，致賀其姻親夫婦雙壽之慶。畫中
衹見遠景峻嶺瀑泉，近為松桂夾道，兩人扶杖踽踽而行。在佈局
上稍異於畫家慣常採用蜿蜒曲折層層推進之手法，省略了中景的
過渡，直將近景跳接至遠景。這樣處理或因緊扣題旨而生。如前
景蒼松呈對，即喻受贈者雙壽；桂樹五株並列，則謂竇燕山教子
有方，五子皆登弟，有「靈椿一株老，丹桂五枝芳」句譽之，故以
此喻後輩成材；至於高山流水具福澤綿延不絕之意。畫家應制寫
此，雖有主題在前，卻無礙其筆墨施展，精嚴規整，描劃精細，
設色秀潤明快，仍是其山水典型本色。
此外，題跋規格應在致贈者列名後，即由畫家署款作結。如今兩
者間突闢另行抬首書「高山流水」四字，似若一畫雙題，未悉其
由！
