寒山積雪。
仿曹知白〈寒山積雪圖〉意，畫成自審尚有是處。丙辰仲春。西津
顧麟士。
宋畫雪景法，山頂樹隙喜用淡墨渲染，至元曹知白始變。宋人成
法，不藉渲染，於皴擦中有雪意藏之，別開一格，最難摹儗。是
幀為十年前舊作，老友劍庵出以示余，殊覺寒氣凛冽。乙丑初秋
鶴逸再記。
鈐印︰
「 鶴逸」、「麟士長壽」、「西津」、「萬壑草堂」、「顧」、「西津仙館」。

註：吳湖帆先生曾謂「西津丈提倡元賢，在清季獨樹一幟，故能
跨越乾嘉諸老，為近代轉移風尚之宗師。」本幅即為一例。鶴逸
師法元人，實不拘趙承旨、黃大痴諸家，寡淡清逸如曹雲西，亦
優而為之，蓋文人一路即其所長也。畫中見幽谷縱深，數撥旅人
策騎循迂迴甬道盤旋而上，兩傍巉巖，間生禿樹枯枝，未見萬點
飛白，卻已覺肅殺蕭森之氣襲人，寒意自生。畫家十載後再睹此
作，復重題誌其緣，又示曹知白實宋人寫雪成法之訣，實自道經
營本幅之竅妙處。他在畫面留白外，不事渲染，取淡墨細筆皴擦
於山巖石塊交叠縫隙處，其用筆綿密細謹，遂顯山石塊面凹凸明
晦狀，亦巧妙地襯托出留白營造的披雪厚積效果。他所謂「於皴擦
中有雪意藏之」，畫境中已明示矣！出入宋元，變通其法，難怪他
也頗為自許曰「畫成自審尚有是處」。
