- ivory, mirror and metal mount
the front face carved with a band of scrolling clouds framing a circular mirror, the reverse with leafy floral branches encircled with a similar cloud border, attached to the tubular handle with a bat-form support, the handle carved with butterflies and floral sprays against a reticulated diaper ground, gilt-metal mounts
Condition
The mirror is slightly tarnished and blemished. There are some age cracks as consistent with age, including one running up the base of the handle (2cm), and several running diagonally across the bat's wings and to the floral panel on the reverse. There are a 0.4 x 0.1cm loss to the base of the cloud scroll border on the reverse and other minor nicks to the extremities. The circular metal mount is slightly dislocated from the ivory mirror and the gilding is slightly rubbed.
