the domed hemispherical body set with a gilt-metal kui dragon handle, brightly decorated with two butterflies in flight amidst scattered floral sprays below a keyfret band, the liner similarly decorated with three bats, mounted with metal rims

Condition
This pot is in good condition, but there are some tarnishing and light dents to the top surface of the cover and it may have previously been gilded.There is scratches and rubbing to the gilding to the foot rim, mouth rim and rim of the cover. There is also light scratches to the enamel to the base, and sides.

此類帶蓋並鑲耳的銅胎畫琺瑯水盂極為罕有，不見他例。本品白地上巧施粉彩花蝶紋，婉柔細緻，清新淡雅，可媲美一對相類盃例。後者書五行詩句，紀年辛丑（1721或1781），售於紐約蘇富比2004年3月23日，編號549。本品胎體厚重，畫工自然流暢，應屬清初精作。以上兩項皆被楊伯達列為早期畫琺瑯器的兩大特徵。詳見《故宮博物院院刊》，1980年，第4期，頁43。楊氏同書中亦錄有蓋盒三例、蓋盌及香爐各一例，出處同上，頁44，圖1-3，圖版1（上）。
